Last Day to Enter Sit Spots Giveaway.

Not only is today a great day to be shopping on TPT (you get 28% off your purchases! if you enter the code more15 before you submit) ....

...but it's the last day to enter my Sit Spots Giveaway!

Let me tell you one more thing about Sit Spots!
After one year on the floor of a kindergarten room, the Sit Spots looked a bit dirty.  So I scrubbed them a little with a brush and some dish soap. then I stuck them in the dishwasher. The picture below shows how they came out. (It's a bit blurry. . . sorry!)

They cleaned up very well. There is one or two that have some ink spots on them. ( I don't know how that got there!)
But otherwise they are good for another year.

In fact I suspect these are good for several more years.

I know many of you think these are pricey. But if you average that over 3-4 years, I believe you'll see that you got your money's worth.

If you haven't entered the giveaway, you have until midnight tonight. If you don't have a blog to share this on, you can share it on your facebook page, twitter, or any other social media that you have.

Good luck! I have my fingers crossed for you!

Sit Spots Give Away

Have you heard of these? Do you have them?

Would you like them?

I have a deal for you . . . a DEAL!

Sit Spots are ©velcro shapes that stick to your carpet (not rugs!).
They can show your students where to sit or stand. They really help those newbies to know where they are supposed to be.

Last fall I did a maternity leave for my daughter-in-law in her kindergarten class. (after I had taught 2nd grade for EVER!)

Those lovely children had never been in a classroom situation so when you say "line up!" they look at you like you have lost your head!

So when I received my Sit Spots, it was a true God Send that really helped my kiddos line up the way we wanted them to. In our building we ask them to always line up in ABC order by their last name. I didn't want to write on the Sit Spots because I wanted my daughter-in-law to be able to use them again and again. So I put a piece of masking tape on the floor behind their spot. I wrote their name on the tape and that made it much easier for them to find their spot.
These pictures don't show the tape with their names on them.
 I added that later.
You see this adorable rug with the farm scene. . . .
Sit Spots won't stick to rugs like this.
This picture below shows the size of the circle shape.
They can pull up easily if you want to move them,
yet most kids leave them alone.

I know that you would really love to have a set of these for your own classroom. Here are a few of the shapes she has to offer.

I am thrilled to tell you that I have 2 . . .yes two $50.00 gift certificates to give away to 2 lucky people. Just fill in the raffle copter below to enter. Spread the word to gain more points. It's easy and exciting to win things!

One last piece of information. When you enter this give away, you may only use one email address. I want this to be a fair giveaway and allow everyone the same amount of chances to win.

Oh Snap, It's Almost September

For us in Michigan when August hits, it feels like summer is almost over. But in reality we don't start school until the day after Labor Day. It's the law.

But when we really think about it, right after August IS September. . . so we do start that little panic dance.
And that anxiety worsens when we see all the finished classrooms on Facebook and we know ours still look like a night mare!

The big TPT sale is over for now but there are still many deals out there that you might want to grab before school starts.

I'd like to share one of my favorites with you. I think kids love to read jokes. 2nd graders can usually get them and it's a great way to practice reading.

I searched many funny kid friendly jokes and put them on cute little apples. All you have to do is copy them, laminate them, THEN cut the apples out. Then make a hinge with tape and put the joke on top of the answer. Put these apples on a locker of a 2nd grader (or higher) and let them read while getting their things in and out of their lockers.

They read the solid colored apple, then lift it up to see the answer on the dotted framed apple.

Some of the jokes will seem lame to an adult,
but I promise you the kids will love them!
