For us in Michigan when August hits, it feels like summer is almost over. But in reality we don't start school until the day after Labor Day. It's the law.
But when we really think about it, right after August IS September. . . so we do start that little panic dance.
And that anxiety worsens when we see all the finished classrooms on Facebook and we know ours still look like a night mare!
The big TPT sale is over for now but there are still many deals out there that you might want to grab before school starts.
I'd like to share one of my favorites with you. I think kids love to read jokes. 2nd graders can usually get them and it's a great way to practice reading.
I searched many funny kid friendly jokes and put them on cute little apples. All you have to do is copy them, laminate them, THEN cut the apples out. Then make a hinge with tape and put the joke on top of the answer. Put these apples on a locker of a 2nd grader (or higher) and let them read while getting their things in and out of their lockers.
They read the solid colored apple, then lift it up to see the answer on the dotted framed apple.

Some of the jokes will seem lame to an adult,
but I promise you the kids will love them!

That's a fun idea for a literacy station!
