Me? Little ol' me. . . an award? How about you?

This morning I found that Storie at Stories by Storie. gave me this award. I love awards and find them very exciting. Thank you Miss Storie. You are so sweet to give this to me. As I read more about this I find that I have to do some things in order to accept this award.

Ok, so game on! Today I spent a long time trying to find others who had not received this award. I don't want someone to be greedy, so I did research these blogs. Either they didn't have the award, or they don't post the awards they receive.

I'd like to thank my parents for putting me on this earth and instilling a sense of worthiness. . . .
Oh wait that sounds like the Oscars!

This award comes with its own set of rules:

1.  Thank the blogger who nominated you. (done!)
2.  Include a link to their site. (done!)
3.  Include the award image in your post. (Done!)
4.  Give 7 random facts about yourself. (Done!)
5.  Nominate 15 other bloggers, include their link, and let them know. (done!)

Here are some other blogs I found: (Can you see a theme here?)

In honor of my grandaughter's name TENLEY, I have chosen all blogs whose names begin with T. . .
THAT was a hard task to do!

Seven Random Facts About Me!
  • I have a green thumb I love to take care of my flower gardens at home and at school.
  • I live 2 and a half hours from my home town, yet I still get together with my high school girlfriends every Christmas. . . been doing this for 40 years now!
  • My husband is going back to teaching part time after being retired for 2 years. (oh wait, that's not about me! . . . but it is. . . because it affects me!)
  • My favorite number is 3.
  • My parents are 89 and 90 and so alive and kicking! They just drove to Des Moines, Iowa from Michigan for a license plate show.
  • I saw Magic Mike today. . . . and well, that's all I can say. . . .
  • My claim to fame is that the late Michael Kennedy, 2nd son of Bobby Kennedy slept in my bed at my parents house. . . I wasn't living there at the time. . . but my mom took pictures and saved the sheets for me till I got home!!!( ha ha! True but freaky about the sheets!) If you want more of the story, you'll have to ask.
Thanks again Storie, and I hope all of you new award winners have lots of fun taking on this task!

AWARDS!! and some blogs to follow

One of the happiest things to see on your blog is when someone gives you an award! How inspiring awards are!!! That means that someone thinks you're doing something right!
 I love that!

Many Thanks to Corinna Gandara from Surfin' Through Second. She awarded me with the Beautiful Blog Award a while ago, and I'm just now getting around to posting it.
I'm sorry for the delay. . . better late than never. . . right?

And then I also received the Top Ten Blog Award from  Teresa Williams 2nd Grade Pig Pen.

This is so inflating my ego! Really?

Two awards so close to each other?

That's just too special! Thank you very much!

These awards were created to encourage new bloggers. But I think it's for making us bloggettes feel super uber impowered to keep on blogging! What a lift this gives me to think that someone else is looking at my stuff. . . . yea, MY  STUFF!!!
Like it really matters!
Thank you.  . . thank you very much!

Now, I need to find some blogs who also are fun to follow and would also like some recognition. I'm giving each of these blogs both awards. Be sure to click here to see more about this award.
Have you heard of these: Check them out!

Jamie at 2nd Grade Stuff
Cynthia in 2nd Grade Pad

Now if all of you would give each of these a little jingle and see if their blog is worth adding to your list. Don't forget to update the blogs you follow in your layout so everyone's new blogs show up!

An Award? For ME? and a Freebie too!

OMG! (that means Holy Moly Some one Thinks My Blog is Good!)

I've been given this award by Vicky from Traditions and Happily Ever After
Thank You SO much Miss Vicky! You really made my day!

What a great feeling to think that someone else has stalked looked at my blog and likes what they see PLUS they noticed that I had under 200 followers so that's one of the requirements to get this award. WHATEVER! I now have an award! Whooo oooooh! One question. . .  who is Liebster?

The rules say that I have to highlight 5 other new bloggers and pass this award on to them. Do you know how hard that is to do? OMG (that means I've searched blogs for a long time now to find some newbies!) But I did find you! And here are the new blogs that I think you'll agree are worth giving a look at and following.

We teachers are all so cooperative and easy to get along with. So share that love and visit them too.

http://funintitlemath.blogspot.com/

And now those new bloggers must follow these directions and keep the warm fuzzies going. Good Luck and Have Fun!
The goal of the award is to spotlight up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers. The rules are:
  1. copy and paste the award on your blog
  2. thank the giver and link back to them
  3. reveal your top 5 picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog
  4. hope that your followers will spread the love to other bloggers

And Now for the Freebie. I was so inspired by Jen from The Teacher's Cauldron when she made some scramble sentences for with the "Medical Cat's Daddy" theme (Apparently we are not supposed to be using  _octor _ uess unless we have a copyright permission) My first and second graders loved them and it was good practice for them. So Miss Jen gave me permission (because it's always polite to ask first!) to make more and give them away! Now wasn't that just so sweet of her! Yea I love sharing!

So here are my creations of scrambled sentences. One word per card, print, laminate, cut apart (isn't that ALL I've been doing lately at night!) then mix them all up. Let the kids sort by picture then try to fit them into a sentence that makes some sense. . . I sure hope they do, and if they don't, would someone please let me know!! I also didn't include any capital letters or punctuation because I wanted them to have to think harder to see which goes at the beginning and end.

That's all for today! Thanks again for the award and making me feel so loved! Have a good week everyone!
