This set helps your students understand and practice locating pronouns. The theme is around Easter and April things. Since this is in black and white, you can print this on colored cardstock or paper. This can be used in a small group, in a center individually, or even with the whole class using a document camera.

Hello MARCH! It's so nice to see you! It means that we in Michigan have survived the winter and pretty much know that most of the snow is done. (although it's snowing as I write this!) Spring is right around the corner and I am ready. I want to get outside without being all bundled up. I bet you do too.
I want to share some of my newest products with you. This NONSENSE WORD set is created in black and white so you can save on colored ink and print on colored paper or cardstock instead. As you know this is prime learning time. Your student's brains are like sponges right now. They have all the holidays out of their system and they are READY to learn. Take advantage of this time and help your students grow their brains.
It's still February, but many of us are getting ready for March is Reading Month. I just added some new calendars that you can send home to keep your students reading many different things while with their families.
They are written in English and Spanish. You can print them on front and back, so that all of your families that read either language can read them.
The students are given these on the last day of February so they have the whole month of March to complete the calendar as best they can. (This is truly optional, so there is no stress about it.) Each time they complete one of the tasks, they can color in a square or X it out. They can do this in any order. That's why there aren't any numbers/dates on the calendar.
At the end of the month they can return the calendar to you and you can give out a little (or big) prize. . . . maybe a book, candy, pad of paper, lunch with the teacher or principal, sit in the teacher's chair, or whatever incentive you choose.

I'm kind of a kook when it comes to holidays. I really like to decorate my home for most holidays. Do you do that too?
Let me back up a bit.
After Christmas is all taken down, I put up snowflakes, snowmen, and anything snowy all over my house. It just makes me happy. I only do it for me. I don't get many visitors except my kids and grandchildren. So it truly is just for me.
Last week we visited our daughter in Houston. Houston got 4 inches of SNOW! Yup, you read that right. The kids missed 2 days of school because of it. Meanwhile back home in Michigan they had frigid temps of -25 degrees wind chill. . . and they missed 2 days of school. Not only that, but we missed 2 flights to return to Michigan because of the snow. (Houston has no snow plows, or salt, or trucks to distribute the salt) We rescheduled and came home safely.
While we were there, my daughter had all of her Valentine decorations up and they looked great! (I think she's taking after me with her decorating many holidays!)
Today I took down all my January decorations and Valentines is up and looking wonderful.

In honor of Valentines approaching, I thought I'd share some of my favorite activities for the month of February.

I have some great products to highlight for you that you can use right now. They are perfect for 2nd and 3rd graders and this time of year. Whether you have snow in your front yards or not, your students will enjoy working with these.

Just print and hand out to your students. Each page has 8 sentences on it. When cut apart and unscrambled, they'll make into a short story. Students can practice reading and reading for meaning with these short sentences. They can look for sequential words that might tell them first, next, after that, and finally. When they feel they have it all in order they can read it to a partner, an adult, or an older student. They staple them together on the left side with the title on top and take them home to read again to someone.
This is also a part of a bundle with December stories.
This is also just print and hand out to your students. You can give them one sheet at a time with 3 problems per page. Or you can make a booklet out of them and let them work at their own pace. Again, this will be good for 2nd and 3rd graders.

The final product for today is Coordinates for Winter. This helps your students determine which coordinate a particular picture is on. This is similar to playing Battleship. It comes in color pages that you can put into a plastic sleeve and have students use a white board marker and erase when finished. It also comes in black and white pages so the students will have their own pages to work on and take home. There are answer keys included for you.
