Non Extreme Makeovers

I am approaching my one year of selling on TPT. It's been fun and so helpful to me to create things that work for my classroom. That's why I make these things. And if on the chance that YOU could use them too, I decided to sell them. I know that many people make similar things. So I get that you might buy from someone else. That's ok with me.I know I have my favorites just like you do too.

This summer it has been one of my goals to update and market my wares better. That's what this post is all about. I wanted to give you a sneak peak at a few things that I have updated. I realize that you are a long way from these holidays. But if you're like me, you might need some extra time to get therm around before the holiday actually approaches.

You can click on each picture to take you
directly to that product in my store.

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more
updates real soon.

Here's a pic of my newest Back To School product! I'd love for you to get one to introduce or review pronouns to your students.

I have had good luck with these pronoun cards and have made them for many months or seasons throughout the year. You can see the others by clicking each link below.

Have  you seen the new Facebook page
dedicated to freebies?
It's perfectly filled right now with many things that just
might fit what your needs are.

Just click on this apple and it will take you to the page. Like the page and feel free to search for things that you will need for your class. And don't forget to leave the people some loving after you grabbed their freebie.

We must remember our manners, shouldn't we?

Updated Activity. . . Would you like one?

I know that Summer just started this past weekend, but let's face it. . . many of us are already thinking forward into the school year starting.

Sad. . . but true!

I decided to update my Halloween Pronoun activity. It's made with DJ Inkers clipart and is oh so adorable!

This particular version has both color and black and white pages.  So you can print out which ever one is best on your budget or your school's budget. For most of the pages, you can print the odd numbered pages to get the colored ones, and the even numbered pages are the black and white ones.

I'm feeling pretty spunky tonight and I'd love to give it away to anyone who would like it. All you need to do is be sure that you are a follower of my blog and my store. Then all you have to do is leave me your email address. . . . That's it!

Oh, but there is one more catch! I will only be giving this away for free until Tuesday, June 25th at 9:00 pm Eastern Time. So be sure to get it now!

Snow or no Snow. . . here goes!

My town is now without snow. . . In JANUARY?

Can you believe it?

In fact it is so without snow, my husband went golfing yesterday!

IN MICHIGAN! That is just so not Michigan in January!

It was and will be today over 50 degrees! Who does that?
However, being over 50 degrees does motivate me to take down the outside Christmas lights instead of waiting for freezing cold day to do it in.

So without snow, how can we think about making snow things for the kids. . . well it's called our imaginations and that is what we'll do today!

I know of friends like Corinna Gandara in Hawaii that has snow falling on her blog, and I'm fairly certain that there isn't any snow in Hawaii. They also make things about snow. . . that's what the imagination is for. Dream on!

People in Florida do it all the time. They use things with mittens, snow, sledding, and skating. . . when was the last time they did any of that there?

In light of all this talk of snow, I want to highlight my Snownouns

They are very cutsie to look at and talk about all kinds of things to do with snowmen and women! They help your kids practice switching the pronoun for the noun that it is representing. It does it back and forth so the child can see how to interchange them. I have seen this on the NWEA test that we take and my kids were baffled on how to answer that question. That's my motivation for making this activity. What motivates you for making things? Leave me a comment and I'll happily give 3 away.

You can pick them up at my store.

P.S. Here's the update on my mom: She's been staying at my sisters nearby all this week. They are taking her back home today. She's doing so much better, but is now worried about being there with just she and my dad. My sister's been cooking for her all week and making sure she is eating the right things and taking the meds at the right time. . . now it will all be on my mom's shoulders. She is strong and I know she'll make do. It's a new phase of our lives . . . we have to do the best we can do. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. You are wonderful people.

pronouns + cold = Snownouns

Great news! Mom is being released from the hospital today!

She is all fixed and now we can work on getting ready to
celebrate her 90th birthday in 2 weeks!
Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
They were obviously very powerful because they worked!

I thought I would be able to make a lot of activities during this two weeks
but there was just too many other distractions. . . . you know how life is!

However, I did make a cool as in "frosty" activity about pronouns. . .
and during the night the "COOLEST" title came to me. . .
don't cha love that when things wake you up!

It is called SNOWNOUNS

Isn't that perfect?

Get it?

Frosty pronouns. . . . SNOWNOUNS!

I would love for you to have a set of these.  You can get them at my TPT store.

But I am feeling pretty excited that my mom is coming home, so I'll happily give one away to the first 5 people who will follow my store, my blog, and leave me an email address.

I sure hope you get one!

Halloween Pronouns

I was so excited to use my Pumpkin Pronoun activity with my kids today. So proud of how it turned out. My top group used it first because I knew they could handle it. . . . and then it hit me. . . . . . OH NO! There is a mistake! . . . . and ANOTHER ONE. . . and OH NOT another one!  Jeesh! I thought I had gone over and over that! But I missed them. So now they are fixed and if you haven't picked them up, you  might want to take a look at them.  You can buy them in black and white, in color or both. All three sets have their own prices. Thanks for looking!

Check them out HERE in my TPT Store.

DJ Inkers CD Give AWAY! FREE!

Yea! Today's the big day! I'm so excited for you! I'm also glad you stopped by!

If you have been following me, you know that I'm a huge fan of DJ Inkers. I'm so glad they offered a license and I grabbed it right away. I have had a lot of fun creating things with their clip art. And of course just making up a worksheet is no longer good enough, it has to be cutsified with DJ Inker pics!

I have some REALLY good news to share with you. . . I mean REALLY!

I have a CD of their latest Halloween clipart called 'Spook'Tacular Smiles to give away. . . . yup that's what I said, GIVE AWAY!

It's free . . . .it's brand new. . . . it's still in the plastic shrink wrap. . . and it's loaded with some cool things.
Here is a FREEBIE that I made with this clip art to share with you. There are two worksheets in this Freebie!

I also made this pronoun activity that you can buy at my TPT Store. You can buy it in color or you can buy it in black in white. Or you can even buy it with both! What a deal! I know that some of you are unable to copy in color so with this option you'll be a happy camper  teacher! And your school will be happy too!

There are 18 task cards plus a recording sheet and answer key so this is an independent activity that would be great for centers.

If you are still with me, here's how you can enter to win the DJ Inker Spook'tacular Smiles CD. Use the Rafflecopter below to enter. Leave me a comment about your favorite Halloween activity with your students and follow my TPT Store

If you want to see more of what DJ Inkers has to offer you, click on their title and you'll see all they have for you.

My favorite activity is dimming the lights, putting on scary music, sitting in a circle, calling the spirits to ask the children to not talk during this activity. They are to say no words.

They may make sounds, but no word can cross their lips!

We are going to "feel" the ingredients that go into the Witch's Brew. I use about 10 lunch sacks with words like Franks Toes, (vienna sausages) Dracula's brains, (wet spaghetti) Bat's heart, (canned peach halves) lizard tongues, (pickles sliced the long way in quarters) Ghoul's hair, (pencil shavings from the sharpener) dried Mummy bones, (dry rice) and several others. But the last one is always MUMMY DUST and this is glitter of any color! Their hands are damp from the other things (they do have a paper towel in front of them!) so the glitter sticks nicely to them!

Don't forget to leave your email address too!
I'll want to find you to mail this to you!

I hope you win! So be sure to enter and just maybe you'll be getting an email from me in a few days with the good news!
