March Show & Tell Linky

Click the picture to go to her blog to see more.

I'm joining Stephanie from Forever in 5th Grade and several friends who want to show and tell something to YOU!
Read on and join us if you want to.
My first thing I want to share with you is about my brother Earl. He is only 19 months older than me. He is very talented with plants and in fact that's what he does for a living. He buys flowers and plants from growers and sells them to big box stores like Lowe's, Home Depot, Menards, etc.
Sadly we found out this New Year's that he had stage 4 lung cancer and passed away on February 18th.  He is on my mind a lot and it's been very hard to accept the fact that he is gone.  I know that's not an exciting thing to share here. But if you're wondering about my life. This is a very important  part of my life.

The next thing is to give you an update on my grandchildren. There are 3 of them so far. One lives in Houston, which is a long way from Michigan. We facetime often and that helps to bridge the gap.  She makes me laugh to watch her learn to do so many things an almost two year old can do.

These next two live in the same town as I do. I see them often and am amazed at how they learn. I must have forgotten to watch my own two kids while they were  growing up! The developmental growth of these children is much more fun to watch as a grandma!
The one above is almost 4 and the one below is almost 2.

The next thing I want to tell you about is really a space saving tip. When you laminate, you can save a lot of film if you just trim your pages before you put them through the rolling machines. By cutting up about 1/4 inch on both sides you can then place 3 pages side by side on the large machine that some of your schools have.

These pictures show how you can easily place 3 pages side by side and not have to worry about overlapping them.

And finally I just got back from a short trip to Florida with my daughter and her family. We spent five days in Clearwater Beach and had great weather.

We also got a chance to see the Tigers play in Lakeland. Thanks to my brother-in-law, we got 3rd row seats right behind the home plate! It was a hot day with no wind to cool us down, but we loved being there.

My mother and father-in-law also live in Lakeland so we got to spend time with them too.

After a bumpy turbulent airplane ride home and continued strong winds tonight, we are home and ready to go back to school tomorrow.

Back to reality!

  3. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother's death, Patty. I know it feels weird to think about them, and then realize that they're no longer here for you to talk with. But you have wonderful grandchildren who remind you that life continues forward! What joy they must bring!

    1. Thank you Marion, you are so right. I truly have to repeatedly say. . . "wow, he's really not here anymore." It's a most unreal thing. My grandchildren do give me life and joy and I'm so glad they are here with me. I so appreciate your kind words.
