Sits Spots Can Be YOURS!

Have I told you the news? I retired in June from teaching 2nd grade. It was kind of a tough decision, but I'm very glad that I did. Now to sort through my basement full of "stuff" that I brought home!

Like ALL of you, my passion is teaching. So I couldn't quite give it up. . . completely!

My little building of 6 classrooms had some openings. . . well actually a few openings. (Our district so far has hired 23 new teachers and still has 5 more to hire. Plus there are many educational aide openings still to hire!)

My daughter in law has been teaching special education for 6 years. (She just had a baby boy 3 weeks ago!) She too was ready for a change. So she applied for a kindergarten job in my building, and she got it. But now she wants to stay home with this precious little man! (I don't blame her at all!)  Brecken Andrew is a handsome healthy little one.

I offered to do her maternity leave so she could stay home and feel that her students were still getting a good education. I'm excited to do this, to work with kindergartners and learn how they learn. I'm also happy to be able to help out my son and his family. She will take off 12 weeks, so I will be with theses littles until almost Thanksgiving.
My daughter and her husband had a precious little girl earlier this summer too. Kennedy Jayne is as sweet as they come. We can't hold her since they live so far away, but we do Face-time with them several times a week so we can watch her grow and change.
My daughter is also going to take off 12 weeks to take care of her. I'm so glad that the Family Leave Act was started and that both of my kids were able to afford to do this.

Back to kindergarten! Since kindergartners come to school with little knowledge of routines, I decided to get myself a set of Sit Spots to help them see where to line up.  Have you ever heard of Sit Spots?
They are this wonderful product made by a past teacher who is now a principal. They are like a velcro product that sticks to your classroom carpet. (But not the commercial rugs that some of you have in your rooms.) They come in many shapes, sizes, and colors.
One of the best things about them is that the custodians can vacuum right over them and they don't move one little bit! This summer one of my teacher friends left hers down and they even scrubbed the floor right over them with water and cleaner and they still didn't move. (In fact she has had hers for almost 2 years and they still look the same as when she first put them down!)

I'm happy to share with you that you could be a lucky winner of a $50.00 gift certificate to purchase your own set of Sit Spots! You can look at her webpage here. Take a peak at all the many kinds of spots that you get to choose from.

You're almost to the Rafflecopter.
Read a bit more and you'll be ready to enter to win these.

Here are some pictures of what they look like in my building:

They will fit on your typical carpeting,
but not on the fancy carpets like the one shown here.

This shows you the size of the circles.

One last piece of information. When you enter this give away, you may only use one email address. I want this to be a fair giveaway and allow everyone the same amount of chances to win.
